The students at Johnson Creek Elementary School are celebrating Earth Day this year, April 22. The students have a full day of Earth Day inspired activities, including a community clean-up that will have students picking up litter throughout the Johnson Creek community. Students will also focus on the loss of habitat for the Monarch butterfly and what they can do to improve the situation facing these extraordinary butterflies.
In the afternoon students will participate in an all school assembly showcasing songs with positive messages about our Earth the talents of each grade-level . Kindergarten through fifth grade will present a short skit, song, or video representing Earth Day. We will cap off the day with a popsicle treat and a reading of the Lorax or another environmentally friendly story.
If it happens to rain, the school will show the movie The Lorax to the entire school. This movie is rated PG. If you would like your child to be excluded from this viewing please contact their teacher prior to April 22.
This is an amazing opportunity for the students of Johnson Creek Elementary to celebrate Earth Day and their community. Thank you to parents and the Johnson Creek community for your support.
