New MS/HS Principal
The Johnson Creek School District is happy to announce the selection of Cale Vogel as the MS/HS Principal/Athletic Administrator replacing retiring Principal Eric Ranzen. He will also assume the athletic administration responsibilities currently being handled by retiring Athletic Director/Teacher Ken Johnson. Cale will be publically introduced to staff during a Wednesday afternoon staff meeting this week.
Mr. Vogel emerged as a finalist out of a field of 38 applicants. Six applicants were interviewed earlier this month by a group of staff, a student, administrators, parents, and a school board representative, with the two finalists being interviewed by the full Board on May 15th.
"We had six excellent applicants who were interviewed and two very qualified finalists. Mr. Vogel’s experiences, personality, and leadership style seemed to be the best fit for our building and administrative team, " Dr. Garvey remarked.
Cale lives in Lake Mills with his wife Emily and two sons, Jack (5) and Charlie (2). Cale is a Watertown High School graduate who earned a political Science degree from Cardinal Stritch and a teaching certificate from UW-Milwaukee. Mr. Vogel holds a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from UW-Whitewater and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from UW-Madison.
Mr. Vogel served the Lake Mills school District for six years as a Social Studies teacher, Athletic Director and Coach. He currently is the Athletic and Activities Director at Brookfield East High School.
"I want to thank Dr. Garvey and the Board for this exciting opportunity. I am humbled by the responsibility and looking forward to building positive relationships with the community, staff and students. Johnson Creek provides the ability to invest in the area I currently live and I can’t wait to get started, " Mr. Vogel said.
Mr. Vogel will begin July 1st, 2013.
