2020 Summer School Information
Kindergarten (2020-2021 school year)
Selecting Courses
The summer school classes listed are available to your student. To read a description of the course, click on the class name and a description box will appear.
- Log into your Skyward account
- Chose “schedule” on the left side of the page.
- On the top of the schedule page, you will see the link “request courses for 2019-2020 in Johnson Creek Summer School” for each student enrolled in the district. Click on the link next to the student’s name who you want to register for summer school.
- Select the class “Kick Off to Kindergarten” in the available course list. To select a class, place the cursor in the box (not on the class name).
- When the class is selected, the “add course” button in the middle of the page will become active. Click the “add course” button to add “Kick off to Kindergarten” to selected courses.
- The total credits in the right corner should increase from zero (0) to two (2).
- Choose two more courses from the available course list and add them individually to the selected courses list. The total credits should total four (4) when you are done.
Selecting Alternates
- Students need to have four (4) alternate classes listed in case one of the selected courses does not run this year in summer school.
- Using the link across the top of the page, click on “request alternates.”
- Under selected alternate courses, you will see the requested “R” courses added from the previous screen.
- Add four (4) alternate course requests. The courses will be listed by number.
- Exit out of Skyward (everything automatically saves).
1st Grade (2020-2021 school year)

- Select the class “Flying Into First Grade” in the available course list. To select a class, place the cursor in the box (not on the class name).
- When the class is selected, the “add course” button in the middle of the page will become active. Click the “add course” button to add “Flying Into First Grade” to selected courses.
- The total credits in the right corner should increase from zero (0) to two (2).
- Choose two more courses from the available course list and add them individually to the selected courses list. The total credits should total four (4) when you are done.
Selecting Alternates and Afternoon Sessions
Students need to have four (4) alternate classes listed in case one of the selected courses does not run this year in summer school.
- Using the link across the top of the page, click on “request alternates.”
- Under selected alternate courses, you will see the requested “R” courses added from the previous screen.
- Add four (4) alternate course requests. The courses will be listed by number.
- If your student wants to attend a swimming session, add either the 1st TWO WKS class or the 2nd TWO WKS class to your alternative list. This is in addition to the four (4) alternative classes already added.
- Exit out of Skyward (everything automatically saves).
2nd Grade - 12th grade (2020-2021 school year)
Selecting Courses
The summer school classes listed reflect the classes which are available to your child based on his/her grade level. To read a description of the course, click on the class name and a description box will appear.
- Log into your Skyward account
- Chose “schedule” on the left side of the page.
- On the top of the schedule page, you will see the link “request courses for 2019-2020 in Johnson Creek Summer School” for each student you have enrolled in the district. Click on the link next to the student’s name who you want to register for summer school.
- Select a course from the available course list that your student wants to take. To select a class, place the cursor in the box (not on the class name.)
- When the class is selected, the “add course” button in the middle of the page will become active. Click the “add course” button to add the class to selected courses.
- The total credits in the right corner should increase from zero (0) to one (1).
- Choose three more courses from the available course list and add them individually to the selected courses list. The total credits should total four (4) when you are done.
(The exceptions are High School PE and Credit Recovery classes which are offered all four periods of summer school. No additional classes can be taken with these options.)

Course Requests are due May 1st, 2020. At that point we will begin scheduling the classes. Although you will be able to register later, your choices will be limited.
